You may find an installer for GarageBand '11 on the system install disks that came with your Mac, if it came with Snow Leopard installed. Mac with MacOS 10.7.5 Lion came without system installer disks. Then you should find a download link for GarageBand on the Purchases tab of the AppStore.
Hi I have a vintage Macbook that can only run up to OS X 10.7.5 and I'm going to need to install Garageband, but the Apple Store only provides the newest version of Garageband which is not compatible with my older OS, so how can I simply download the older version of Garageband? This should not be a difficult problem to solve yet hours of internet research yields no solution. This is extremely frustrating because I need to get to work on recording, but I' not about to dish out thousands of dollars on a new mac when an earlier version of garageband would work fine on the mac I currently have.
I moved my files form iOS to my mac successfully but when I try to open them, it pops a compatibility update and starts to download it, and after it is done, it says it can not be installed and have to try again, so I CAN NOT OPEN MY FILES. I have done this like ten times and it´s always the same. WHAT CAN I DO?????? HELP!!!!!!!
With the release of 5.3.2, we have officially discontinued support for 32-bit plug-ins. With macOS Catalina requiring all applications to be 64-bit, and with the vast majority of our PC customers using 64-bit plug-ins, we decided it was the right time to end 32-bit support. Our most recent 32-bit installers are available to download below.
The Logic Pro 10.7.5 update also comes with two additional sound packs, including Beat Tape (Hip Hop) and Modular Rhythms (Synth Drums). This gives both new and experienced users some fresh new sounds to inspire the creative process and expand your library.
A preview of OS X 10.7 Lion was publicly shown at the "Back to the Mac" Apple Special Event on October 20, 2010. It brought many developments made in Apple's iOS, such as an easily navigable display of installed applications, to the Mac, and includes support for the Mac App Store, as introduced in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard version 10.6.6.[7][8]On February 24, 2011, the first developer's preview of Lion (11A390) was released to subscribers to the Apple Developer program.[9] Other developer previews were subsequently released, with Lion Preview 4 (11A480b) being released at WWDC 2011.[10]
Although originally paid, Apple later allowed free downloads of the OS, especially for customers of older and no longer officially supported Mac computers, starting on June 30, 2021.[15] The same practice was applied to its successor, OS X Mountain Lion.
Apple did not initially announce any physical media distribution for Lion, such as a set of CD-ROMs or a DVD-ROM as used for past releases. Instead, the operating system was said to be available exclusively as a download from the Mac App Store for US$29.99.[17][18] The only prior version of OS X that supports the Mac App Store is Snow Leopard, which implied that any machines that support Lion currently running Tiger or Leopard would first have to be upgraded to Snow Leopard, as opposed to allowing a direct upgrade to Lion.
Apple later announced two alternative distribution mechanisms for the benefit of users without broadband Internet access: in-store downloads at retail Apple Stores, and a USB flash drive containing the OS, priced at US$69, available through the online Apple Store beginning in August.[2] On August 4, 2011, Apple started to take orders for OS X Lion's USB installation flash drives for $69.99.[19]

I don't want to use ProTools; I just want to use the MBox as a simple USB audio interface for Audacity/Garageband. The last standalone driver Digidesign produced was for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Is there any way I can get this device working with OS X 10.7 Lion?
You first need to purchase or install any version of GarageBand '11. Then you can update it to GarageBand 6.0.5 from the downloads page. The update download is here: GarageBand 6.0.5 Download java for mac sierra.
If it's any encouragement, Reaper is much loved by its user base. It's a small download, it supports all common file formats at whatever quality you need, and it supports the use of free VST plugins, putting thousands of instruments and effects at your fingertips.
What Reaper lacks compared to similar commercial products is a sound library. The internet is packed with thousands of free downloadable samples you can use to build your own, though, so it likely will not be a dealbreaker for you.
System Requirement: OS X 10.6 and later is used. Audacity runs best with at least 1 GB RAM and a 1 GHz processor (2 GB RAM/2 GHz on OS X 10.7 and later). For lengthy multi-track projects, a minimum of 2 GB RAM and 2 GHz processor (4 GB RAM on OS X 10.7 and later) is required. 2b1af7f3a8
